Horse Retreats for Your Leadership Teams
Equine-Guided Team Experience
Your management teams have been under an extreme amount of stress over the past few months. Covid-19 has impacted every part of their world, both personal and professional. In addition to the impact of Covid on their personal lives, managers, team leaders, and supervisors have also had to deal with the effects of rolling closures and changes to operating hours, including managing inventory issues, staffing challenges such as poor morale, and low productivity, and more.
They need an opportunity to release some of that stress and shift negative narratives to reclaim their power, create a culture of resilience and positivity, and support themselves and their staff in authentic and powerful ways.
A team experience in which a certified Equine Gestalt Coach partners with horses to provide your team with a unique opportunity to de-stress and reconnect with themselves and each other in a fun, interactive way.
What Does an Equine Experience Look Like?
Horses partnered, as guides, along with the human coach, help facilitate you and your team to a new way of exploring communication, both verbal and non-verbal. The horses’ natural and intuitive abilities challenge leaders to be authentic, confident, aware and communicate more effectively. In addition, because horses understand herd dynamics, they take teams and leadership to another level of commitment.
Through interactive horse exercises and other activities facilitated on the ground (no riding), we’ll explore ways to increase creativity, develop greater problem-solving skills, build self-confidence, and improve relationships.
The immediate benefits of interacting with horses are improved performance, increased productivity, self-awareness, improved communication skills, and so much more.
Without judgment, the connection between horses and humans creates a lasting impact that benefits individuals and teams.
And…
Because we hold stress in our bodies, it is important to release it from our bodies rather than just talking about it. Working with horses provides an experiential opportunity to release stress and “re-program” some of the negative thinking that may have developed as a result of the pandemic restrictions over the past year.
Why Horses
Simply being in the vicinity of a horse is beneficial to humans on a physiological level. We experience a decrease in blood pressure and a drop in our stress hormone, cortisol, while simultaneously increasing our serotonin and oxytocin, the hormones that foster a sense of connection and wellbeing. This helps move us out of a stressed-out “fight/flight/freeze” state and into a state of “rest and digest,” improving our ability to connect, problem-solve, and innovate.
In addition, the horses provide us with immediate and honest feedback when we work with them, allowing us to know when we are accessing a more congruent and authentic state, which is critical to good leadership and personal power.
My equine coaches and I will guide you through experiences that will allow you to drop your stress in the sand and move forward with greater resiliency as you navigate the ongoing uncertainties of our business landscape.
You do not need any experience with horses, and we will not be riding them – all our work is done on the ground, with handlers available to ensure the safety of horse and human.
